New Masjid Project

Dear brothers and sisters,

 

The Muslim population in Rotorua has grown significantly hence the existing masjid is unable to cater to the growing community needs. The Rotorua Islamic Association looking at buying a church to move to bigger premises as the community is growing in size.

RIA has recently signed a contract for purchasing an existing church at 274 Old Taupo Road, Hillcrest, Rotorua, New Zealand (figures below). The Church belongs to Samoan Independent Seventh Day Adventist Church. This will be repurposed and converted into a masjid Alhamdulillah.

The property is on 750sqm land size, having two buildings on it. The first one is the Church's main hall of approx. 220sqm and the second building is at the rear of the property of approx. 70sqm. There are around 7 to 10 car park spaces on site. Apart from this, cars can also be parked on the road, on the building side.

An offer for $369k has been accepted. RIA currently has $354k and needs another $15k. RIA is requesting for donations/soft loans from the wider community. This dream will not come to its fruition without your generous help and support.
